It was such an exciting time planning for Medfield's Digital Learning Day. I was so disappointed that it had to be cancelled today. In any case, kudos to Kim Cave, our Curriculum Director; Eoin O'Corcora and the our technology team; and technology integration specialists, Neal Sonnenberg, Diane Horvath and Debby Fromen.
Today close to 500 educators from over 40 school districts and many Medfield parents were planning to participate in this exciting opportunity. There will be more information in the near future.
World Language Selections were due yesterday - February 4, 2016. Please do your best to get your selections in. We appreciate it.

Wednesday's Chinese New Year Celebration included over 70 Mandarin students. However, to include other disciplines at school, ALL students made Chinese Masks in Art with Ms. Babin, while the Ribbon Dance was learned and performed by two Music classes directed by Mrs. Stover. Mr. Slason and a student presented a YoYo demonstration, and our Media Specialist, Mrs. Robertson worked with students to create PowerPoint about Chinese New Year.
The MCPE graciously funded the program for the Mandarin students to learn Tai Chi taught by Ms. Chen from the Confucius Institute at Bryant University and the Wheelock PTO supported the program as well. Students in both grades demonstrated their Tai Chi skills!
Many thanks to Mr. Yu from the Chinese Daily Press in Boston for covering this event and other local media for their attendance.
We are happy to announce that Wheelock School’s representatives for the 2016 Zaner-Bloser Handwriting Contest are Allyson Bligh, Grade 2 and John Barrette, Grade 3. Congratulations to our representatives! We look forward to learning if our students advance in the competition.
