Two weeks until April vacation and we have a lot to do!
To start the week, we held our March Hoot drawing; this time most students chose lunch with their teachers. One lucky student chose an extra recess and enjoyed time Monday with a few friends.
Our first round of English Language Arts was seamless. The students did a great job. Thank you for getting our students to school on time. MCAS occurred today and will go on Monday, and possibly Tuesday.
On Thursday we enjoyed a fantaastic Design Your Own Learning Day. Formerly, Digital Learning Day, this year we expanded to incorporate more creative wellness oriented sessions. The DLD committee added a great idea instead of a keynote speaker. A few Medfield and other educators from surrounding communities were invited to share their passion is a Passion Pitch. Everyone did a fantastic and inspiring job!
Over the past two weeks I have been visiting our classrooms to read to our students. I love a personal connection with the children. In third grade I have been reading a fable to reinforce a recent unit on fables but also to reeinforce a climate of kindness. This is an ongoing theme we have been teaching for the past two years. I hoep it goes on because our children need constant reminders to understand the feelings of others. In grade 2 I have been reading What Do You Do With A Problem? It's a great discussion starter and allowed us to transition to a conversation about kindness on the playground.
March Hoot Privilege
These students are our March Hoot Privilege students! Good for you, children!
