What a wonderful message conveyed. It is necessary for our children to understand that life is not so easy for other children in other parts of the world. This experience ties in well with our social emotional learning curriculum as the children develop their empathy for others.
Speaking of Empathy and Kindness
Previously, I described our Kindness Rocks project here in my blog. Today, spearheaded by our PTO, the children wrote kindness sayings on rocks gathered and painted by a dedicated group of Medfield parents. Many thanks to the PTO volunteers, especially Amanda Spears, Maureen Dodge, Jill Werner, Sarah Powers, Kelly Wysocki and Patty Allen for all of their efforts!
The rocks will form the Wheelock Kindness Rock Garden in the courtyard.
Have a great weekend!
