I hope you have had a smooth entry back to school. The transition for us has been seamless this year. I have enjoyed visiting grade 2 classrooms getting to know our new students. They are adorable and learning our routines so quickly!
One of the topics I discussed with the boys and girls is friendship. We talked about, "What makes a good friend?" I challenged the children to make a new friend. My philosophy is that while they are at Wheelock they have the opportunity to expand the people they know. It is so beneficial if they feel comfortable with a lot of other children by the time they head off to Dale.
This week in addition to my classroom visits we had a Go Pats Spirit Day. Today I am sure we are all feeling the outcome of last night's' game. I'm sure things will get better. We had a lot of participation and plan spirit days throughout the year. Our next Spirit Day is Medfield Pride Day on the 15th. Students are invited to wear blue and/or white or Medfield Spiritwear.
Wheelock will hold a school Walk for Franklin, our service dog, on October 13th. More information will come home in the coming weeks.
