Wheelock was so pleased to learn that for a second year in a row we have a State- Level Representative in the Zaner-Bloser Handwriting Contest. Congrats to Morgan Turner. We can't wait to hear if Morgan advances to the National level in this wonderful competition that reinforces the importance of handwriting. While there is research both pro and con, I do believe there is value in our children learning cursive penmanship, for a variety of reasons. Did you know that the Common Core Standards encourage students to be able to use/read primary sources in their research? It is important that our children are able to read cursive to access this important, historical information.
Have a wonderful week!
