It's been another wonderful year. This week we held our final Principal's Good Character breakfasts. The students had a nice time. Thank you Food Services and Mrs. Schiemer!
Grade 4 Summer Reading
Steve Grenham, Dale Street Principal, and Kerry Cowell, Dale Street Library Media Specialist, visited the students to share information about Dale Summer Reading. Bernadette from Medfield Library also stopped by! The students will be reading The Wild Robot by Peter Brown. Enjoy!
Cecilia Crosby guessed Mr. Grenham's music challenge. The answer was Mr. Roboto performed by Styx, Cecilia received a free snack and Mr. Grenham owes her one in the fall too!
Wednesday was Flag Day and Field Day! To honor our flag, the boys and girls wore red, white or blue and said the Pledge of Allegiance before beginning the activities. Mrs. Stover led everyone in a rendition of You're a Grand Old Flag. Field Day is fantastic. Thanks to all of the parent volunteers, staff and especially to Mrs. Nawrocki and Mr. Slason.
Dare to be Different Day
We had fun today. Many students and staff "dared to be different".
We've made great strides this year in addressing our students' social and emotional needs and diversity. Many thanks to the MCPE and PTO for supporting grants that provided effective tools and items that provided many kinesthetic classroom options for our learners.
A Few Thoughts!
It's been a wonderful school year. As you enjoy the summer, some great reads include The Big Disconnect by Catherine Steiner-Adair and Reset Your Child's Brain by Victoria L. Dunckley, MD.
Here are some ideas to keep our children learning all summer long in a fun way! Here are some more links from Edutopia.
As I wrote this week's blog, I started to think about all of the good books I want to read this summer. It made me think that it might be fun to share with you my office team's favorite books from their childhoods:
Mrs. Monahan - The Happy Hollisters Series by Jerry West
Mrs. DiGregorio - Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein
Ms. Simonds - The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
Mrs. Reddy -
Mrs. Schiemer - One Morning in Maine by Robert McCluskey
Mrs. Olson - Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
Next week, I will provide a recap of our progress with regard to our School Improvement Plan. I am proud to share all of our accomplishments.
Enjoy the final weekend of the school year!
