Our last Good Character assembly was wonderful! Thanks to Mrs. Trikoulis and Mrs. Lynn for a great Flag Day presentation. Isabella Kong assisted as MC as Principal of the Day. We also congratulated Jon Barrette and Allison Bligh as Zaner-Bloser State Contest winners.
Field Day had perfect weather this year and we so appreciate Mr. Salson and Mr. Stevens! They did a great job organizing this event. We also thank our parent volunteers! Here are a few pictures!
Announcing the departure of wonderful staff members is bittersweet. Sarah Murphy will be making a big change. She will be a reading specialist at Blake next year! Nick Steven is moving to Dale. This will be a great opportunity for Nick as he no longer will have to travel between schools. We will announce their replacements next week.
We are grateful to Linda Simanski, Spanish, and Sarah Connolly, grade 3, who subbed for Emily Callahan. We also say good-bye to Lisa Vino who replaced Judy Myers in a reading position this year. Judy will return in August. We appreciated all of their effort and wish them the best in new positions. Ms. LeBlanc, Spanish and Mrs. Callahan will return in August also. We also thank Ella Kukles, our technology assistant who will not be returning next year. Katie Aires, Inclusion Facilitator, will be moving to a distict behavior specialist position. She is awesome and we know she will do a great job. We wish everyone the best of luck! We'll miss them.
It's been a wonderful year at Wheelock. We have truly enjoyed your children! We have been so busy with many initiatives. Our new math program has been successful and our students became proficent in responding to text. We are excited about the changes in store for next year and I will share more specific Wheelock information next week in the Flash and my blog. For now, see Dr. Marsden's presentation regarding our elementary plans for next year.
Have a great weekend!
