Thank you to those of you who expressed interest in joining Site Council this year. In the end, only two parents formally applied for Site Council for grade 2. We welcome Lisa McDonald and Meghan Glenn to Site Council this year as our grade 2 representatives.
Friday proved to be such a busy day, but I wanted to catch up to thank everyone for attending PIN. It was such a great night. It is very exciting to see so many new and familiar faces. The feedback was so nice and always appreciated. I hope it was an informative and enjoyable evening for you too!
Wheelock School enjoyed our first Open Circle Good - Character Assembly. Mrs. Olson shared a cute video on Responsibility, our good character word of the month. Mrs. Johnson, school psychologist, read the Bucket Filler to the boys and girls. We also unveiled our new Buddy Bench donated by the Fontana family. We hope this will be a
pleasant addition to the playground, as a great place for children to gather. We ended the assembly with Mrs. Myers and Mrs. Duffy, our reading specialists, who shared information about International Literacy Day. We recognized our winners of the Scholastic Reading Challenge! Thanks to Jamee Callahan, ELA Coordinator, for coordinating the challenge and to the CSA for providing a Kindle for our grand prize winner and gift certificates to Park Street Books. Thanks everyone!
Great news! We now have two grade 2 parents who have volunteered to participate in Site Council as grade 2 representatives. If additional parents apply for these positions, we will need to hold an election. If interested, please write a brief paragraph describing your background and interest to Mrs. Olson by Sept. 12th. You will receive notification if an election will be held.
