Congratulations to my special Principal of the Day. This young lady did an excellent job assisting me with some of my duties. Great work! For her effort she had breakfast with the principal, and shared some morning announcements with the boys and girls. My assistant helped out in the cafeteria and helped me read a story to Mrs. Carey's class. Our Principal of the Day received a certificate and a Wheelock pencil. Thank you for your help! It was fun!
Thank you to a great group of Wheelock staff led by Kelley Kennedy and Nicole Sheehan who have rounded out our Open Circle/Good Character program at Wheelock School. The addition of recognizing individual students who exemplify Good Character traits is a great opportunity to recognize role models and provide incentive for good behavior and deeds.
Here is our first group of award recipients.
Congratulations, boys and girls!!
Our Good Character Word for May is Honesty; June - Citizenship.
Thank you parents, for your support during our MCAS administration. Every student was on time and we have very, very few tests to make up. The two days proceeded smoothly and the administration went well. Our staff is seasoned and manages our students well. The boys and girls were comfortable and tried their best.
Time is flying by! MCAS, PARRC, Art Shows, Interviews, Teacher Appreciation Week, and on it goes!
We enjoyed a great Good Character Assemby and announced that Lily Bligh is a State Winner in the Zaner-Bloser Handwriting Contest. Congratulations!
Last night our students' art work was on display at our annual Art Show. Great job, boys and girls!
Don't forget, grade 3, MCAS is scheduled for the 13th and 14th. Let's get a good night's rest and eat a good breakfast. I know you will try your best!
Finally, this weekend is Mother's Day. I hope everyone enjoys a great day with their moms. My son is coming home which I love and I know I feel very lucky to have my mom at 91. Every year is a gift. Let's take the time to show how much we care.
Have a great weekend. It's the home stretch!
