I hope you had a great week! Yes, the groundhog did see his shadow, so 6 more weeks of winter!
A lot of learning happened this week and we had fun too! We enjoyed our Wear Red Day for the Heart Association. The day especially honored our late custodian, Tom Mulkern, who sadly passed away last fall.
During a walkthrough, I saw so much great teaching and learning. Grade 2 continues to embed time and money into activities. Guided reading and math are exciting opportunities to tailor instruction for our students.
Of course, our students love Social Studies and Science! We are moving more and more toward integrated units to optimize our time.
Kudos to Mr. Slason and Mrs. Nawrocki for an outstanding Olympics Unit. The boys and girls are divided into country teams and are participating in some healthy competition. The unit provides many integrated teaching opportunities and much practice in resiliency. Life lessons help our children grow. The unit also increases global perspective about the world around us! This morning, Jamaica was in the lead!
Today we enjoyed a Super bowl Spirit Day! I will say I do think the majority of our fans support the Patriots!
Thank you to those of you who so kindly donated chess/check sets for our morning recess. Much appreciated! We still can use a few more...
Have a great weekend!
