Another busy week was underway. This time our blog will focus on world language. Our new Spanish teacher, Jessica Marinelli is absolutely outstanding! Ms. Marinelli brings great experience to the position and knows the age group very well. Both Mrs. Wang and Mrs. Marinelli travelled with some of their students to present information about their programs to Memorial grade 1 students. The students loved the performances.
On Wednesday, Mrs. Toubman, Gr. 2-12 World Language Content and I visited Memorial School to share information with parents about the world language program at Wheelock. The presentation was placed on the schools' websites.
Both performances were engaging and exciting. However, please make your decision based on your own child and his or her learning style rather than the pageantry of the performances that were quite enticing! Thank you, Mrs. Marinelli and Mrs. Wang for all of your hard work. Both programs at Wheelock are awesome and encourage our children to love languages and expose our students to a more global perspective of the world around us.
Early Morning Brain Stretch!
Students are able to play chess during indoor morning recess before the start of school. It's amazing to see the students' skills. They were so good! We have 7 chess sets. If anyone has a chess set they would like to donate, we would love to have a few more!
Today we enjoyed a spontaneous comfy, cozy football day! We had a fun time and look forward to Sunday's game!
Have a wonderful weekend!
