We have had a busy week. Even though it was short, we accomplished so much!
We started our Tuesday morning with Bus Evacuation drills and the children did a wonderful job. Today we conducted safety drills at school. The children and staff followed procedures very well!
After school on Thursday a group of lovely Brownies planted bulbs in our courtyard. Thank you girls, and parents, Mrs. Fraser, Mrs. Brennan, Mrs. Hennessey, and Mrs. Colunio. I can't wait to see the blooms! A big thank you to Jen Gemski for donating the bulbs!
Have you heard about the Big Papi Challenge? I invited any student (voluntary, of course) to write me a letter or a 4 paragraph essay explaining how Big Papi represents respect or responsibility. Teachers distributed the guidelines for the Challenge to the children on Tuesday. The deadline for submission is October 25th. The 4 selected essays will be read over announcements or in the cafeteria on our Big Papi/Baseball Spirit Day on October 28th!
If you would like a copy of the guidelines, please contact the school office.
We are thrilled that MCPE approved our grant, and Bren Bataclan, muralist, will return to Wheelock the week of December 12th. We are excited to see his work upstairs. Thank you to all of the parents who donated at the Fall Ball and contributed to our grant.
Have a great weekend!
