As this week begins we are so excited to greet you at PIN on Tuesday evening at 6:30.
I was sad to let Mrs. Sheehan's families know she will not be with us. Mrs. Sheehan's mother passed away Friday evening. Our sympathy goes out to Mrs. Sheehan and her family.
We will be having our first Open Circle Assembly of the year on Thursday. At the same time we will celebrate International Literacy Day and recognize our Summer Reading Winners. We also will acknowledge that September 17th is Constitution Day. This year we celebrate the 225th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution in Philadelphia in 1787.
We will have a patriotic Red, White and Blue Day on Thursday!
Aspen Parent Portal
This week Dr. Marsden sent information to families with directions for accessing the Aspen Student Information Parent Portal. As a reminder, parents are able to submit verification for the AUP (Internet Acceptable Use Policy); [the Digital Citizenship component is coming], and for receipt of the Elementary Student Handbook.
For the first time this year, elementary parents are able to access the Parent Portal to provide this information which eliminates the use of paper. Yipee! However, with all things new come some bumps in the road. We seek your patience as we try to work out a few glitches. To that end, here are some reminders:
- When accessing the Parent Portal, the Wheelock folder is at the bottom right of the front page. In this folder you will find the Acceptable Use Policy and the Elementary Handbook.
- Your eligibility to change student information will expire. However, after the designated time period, you will be able to contact the school directly for any changes that may occur throughout the school year.
If you wish to authorize an older sibling to meet your Wheelock student at the Bus Stop, please email your child’s name, the sibling’s name and your written permission to Luanne Monahan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Don't forget, No School on September 23rd - Yom Kippur
Have a great week!
